Weighing in on Weeks 22-23

For week 22, I was down 0.6 lbs and for week 23 I am up 0.8 , making my total weight loss so far 26.4 lbs. I will confess, these numbers are a little discouraging, but I’m hoping with a few tweaks I can see some bigger losses in the coming weeks.

My meals and workouts for this week are planned as follows:

Breakfasts:
  • Oatmeal – 2 SP
  • Bacon, Egg, & Cheese Biscuits – 7 SP
  • Fruit – 0 SP
Lunches:
  • Egg Salad Sandwich – 3 SP
  • Lays Poppables – 2 SP
  • *Freezer Friendly Bean & Cheese Burritos – 1 SP
  • Frozen corn – 0 SP

This recipe makes 24 burritos, so be sure you have plenty of room in your freezer.

I make these with fat-free refried beans, Kraft Fat-Free Cheese, Taco Bell Taco Sauce, and Ole Xtreme Wellness tortillas.

Dinners:
  • Sunday – Leftovers from our dinner out for Valentine’s Day
  • Monday – Dinner Out (Bible Study Night)
  • Tuesday – Soup and a grilled cheese sandwich – 6 SP
  • **Wednesday – Easy Salmon Patties – 2 SP
  • Thursday – Soup and a grilled cheese sandwich – 6 SP
  • **Friday – Leftover Easy Salmon Patties – 2 SP
  • **Saturday – Sweet & Sour Meatballs – 6 SP
  • **Sunday – Leftover Sweet & Sour Meatballs – 6 SP

Snacks:
  • Light Cheese Stick Wrapped with 1 large pepperoni slice – 2 SP
  • Turkey stick – 1 SP
  • Reese’s Peanut Butter Eggs (or Hearts) – 8 SP (Yes, I’m still splurging. Did I ever say that these were my favorite candies and that I love these things?)
  • Banana – 0 SP
  • Lays Poppables (snack size bag) – 2 SP
  • Good Thins – The Corn One (29 crackers) – 2 SP
Workouts:
  • Tuesday – Zumba Toning (with weights)
  • Wednesday, Thursday, & Saturday – Regular Zumba
Tool of the Week

The Weight Watchers (WW) app. With the WW app, you can track your foods, points, and activities, and earn points towards rewards. It has a barcode scanner that lets you find out how many points there are in foods, recipes, exercises, and so much more. The app recently let me know that I had been tracking my foods each day for 6 straight months. And we all know tracking your food is an important part of weight loss.

You do have to be a member to use it, but you can join online or choose the workshop option. While the online version allows you access to their weight loss tools, the workshop option works best  for those who need accountability each week. With the workshop, there is a weekly weigh-in and your successes are celebrated. Members who attend share things that help them manage their points better, low point food choices they’ve discovered, and sometimes recipes. You can check out WW here.
